The Wish Tree

As part of Yoko Ono's international art initiative to create Wish Trees for Peace, I led an advanced painting class at Dalton High School in a collaborative public art project. Inspired by Ono’s groundbreaking conceptual art, students engaged deeply with her work while contributing to a meaningful global effort. After obtaining permission from Central Park authorities, students gathered and prepared branches to construct the Wish Tree, experimenting with arrangements and selecting a striking blue-and-white vase for display. The entire school participated by adding their wishes, transforming the tree into a powerful community symbol of peace.

This project, recognized on Yoko Ono's website [link here], demonstrated the impact of art as a unifying force and provided students with hands-on experience in conceptual art. It reflects my commitment to facilitating impactful public art projects that inspire collaboration and creativity.
