Little Free Library Commission from the City of New Rochelle, NY
In 2019, I was honored to be one of six artists awarded a grant from the New Rochelle Council on the Arts, My Brother’s Keeper New Rochelle, and the New Rochelle Public Library to create a Pop-Up Mini Library. Each artist was tasked with designing a unique kiosk, and I chose the theme "Branch Out and Read," incorporating mosaics inspired by Gustav Klimt's iconic tree designs. My Pop-Up Mini Library was installed in front of City Hall, serving as a public art piece and community resource. These libraries, filled with donated books, were installed in parks across New Rochelle, creating accessible spaces for reading and connection. This project reflects my passion for combining art and community engagement, and it continues to inspire my vision for future public art commissions.
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
