Calla Lily Triptych, Acrylic on canvas

This commissioned triptych was designed to transform and conceal an unsightly wooden screen in the client’s living room. Given complete artistic freedom to determine the subject, I chose to feature calla lilies, whose elegant symbolism—purity, faithfulness, and rebirth—resonates deeply in Malaysia, where the painting will be installed.

The design incorporates generous areas of white underpainting to bring space and light into the composition, creating a sense of airiness and balance within the room. The soft interplay of forms and hues invites reflection and serenity, aligning with the symbolic essence of the calla lily.

The painting is soon to be installed in its new home, and I look forward to sharing updates of it in position, fulfilling its role as both a striking artwork and a harmonious element of the living space.
